Colorado State has named a third player it would like to snag from the East Texas region.

The Rams offered John Tyler defensive end and linebacker hybrid Dekalen Goodson on Thursday morning. John Tyler's coaching staff first reported the scholarship opportunity through its Instagram account.

Colorado State previously offered Tyler Lee quarterback Chance Amie and Kilgore receiver Jonathan Shepherd. Both of those players are currently uncommitted.

Goodson (6-2, 215), a rising senior, now has six NCAA Division I FBS school choices.

John Tyler was East Texas' most successful of four Class 6A schools, as far as postseason advancement. It reached the regional semifinal round of the 6A Division II playoffs after claiming a share of the District 11-6A title and finished the campaign with a final record of 11-2.

Goodson recorded 70 tackles, 11 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles through his 13-game junior season.

Colorado State, located in Fort Collins and participating in Mountain West Conference play, entered Goodson's mix on the heels of a 7-5 regular season and loss in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl under second-year coach Mike Bobo.

The Rams program has an active bowl game streak of four years and has made 15 bowl appearances since the 1990 season.

Like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, Goodson will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
