Back in August, ETSN.fm tabbed Corrigan-Camden and Deweyville as the preseason favorites to claim the District 12-2A Division II title, and after both achieved perfect non-district campaigns, not much has changed.

Corrigan-Camden (5-0) has put together a quality start to the season. The Bulldogs have outscored opponents 199-103 but their opponents -- Elysian Fields, Diboll, Woodville, Crockett and Center -- have combined to go just 5-22.

Deweyville has been even more dominant, outscoring opponents on average 55-16. The combined record of the Pirates' non-district foes -- Sabine Pass, Evadale, San Augustine, Hull-Daisetta and West Hardin -- is only 5-21.

We'll find out exactly how these two stand Friday when they meet in the district opener.

Anderson-Shiro, in just its second year of existence after going 1-9 in its inaugural season, has put together a 3-1 start to the season.

Groveton (3-2) has had an up-and-down start to the season. The Indians looked good in wins over Hull-Daisetta (35-21), Shelbyville (16-14) and Cross Roads (58-6), but were outscored 77-33 in losses to Trinity and Alto.

New Waverly and Hemphill both enter district play with 0-5 records, but New Waverly has been far competitive in those games than Hemphill. New Waverly has been outscored by an average score of 29-11, while Hemphill is losing on average, 45-10.
