LONGVIEW  Dangerfield scored early and often to set the pace in its second round playoff match with Harmony on Friday afternoon.

Midway into the first quarter, Daingerfield scored with a rushing touchdown from Jakobie Craver to go up by two scores. Craver ended the game with a total of 185 yards rushing and four touchdowns, helping Daingerfield to a 48-30 in over Harmony in the 3A Division II Region III area playoff game.

Harmony started the game with an onside-kick and came up with the football, but turned the ball over with an interception made by the Tigers’ Ishmahel Allen on the next play.

That same possession, Daingerfield scored on a 44-yard run by Zaylon Jeter, putting the first points of the game on the board. It came up short on the two-point conversion, making the score 6-0 in the first quarter.

Harmony put together a solid drive on its next possession, but fumbled on the Daingerfield 3-yard line, making that the second turnover of the night on just its second drive.

Daingerfield (8-3) continued to pour on the points in the second quarter and kept Harmony scoreless until the Eagles finally scored a 3-yard rushing touchdown from Isaac Edwards. They were successful on the 2-point conversion, bringing score to 24-8 with 2:15 left in the second quarter.

Daingerfield tacked onto its big lead with just seconds to go in the half, with a 4-yard rushing touchdown from Jakuri Woods. A failed 2-point conversion attempt would leave Daingerfield up 30-8 going into the break.

Harmony (10-2) found life in the third quarter. It held the ball for almost most the entire quarter and scored off a 2-yard rushing touchdown from Easton Blackstone on a 20 play drive. A successful 2-point conversion would bring the score, 30 - 16 with 3:34 left in the third quarter.

Blackstone started to put the team in his back in the second half, scoring from 11 yards out and coming up with a big interception that would lead the Eagle to scoring on a 42-yard touchdown pass from Gage Goddard to Michael Everett, a 2-point successful conversion brought the Eagles to within 6 points with score 36-30 midway into the fourth quarter.

Nearing the end of the fourth quarter, Daingerfield started to pull-away, scoring on 32-yard rush from Craver and once more with a 1:48 left on the clock, putting the final nail in the coffin.

Harmony's Easton Blackstone had 89 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Daingerfield advances to the next round, taking on Corrigan-Camden (10-2). Time and place to be determined.
