HARMONY -- The defending state champion Carlisle Indians finished off a sweep of Maud with a 13-3 win on Saturday in Game 2 of their Class A Region III quarterfinal playoff series.

Ben Goss and Collin Gray each drove in three runs to lead Carlisle (22-3), which advanced to a regional semifinal matchup with Evadale next week.

Caleb Colley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, Zach Brightwell had two hits, an RBI and scored three times and Kyle Byrd was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run for the Indians.

Goss (4-0) was the winning pitcher, allowing no earned runs on one hit with five strikeouts and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Brightwell finished the game with 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
