MESQUITE -- Devlen Woods threw a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to K'Lon Warren to help John Tyler erase a second-half deficit and defeat West Mesquite, 29-22, Friday night at Hanby Stadium.

John Tyler (4-2, 3-0 in District 7-5A Division II) trailed 22-14 entering the fourth quarter, but Warren hauled in a pair of scores, including the 22-yard game-winner with less than six minutes remaining.

Rod Hawkins led John Tyler on the night with 143 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

West Mesquite (2-3, 1-1) was led by Ty Jordan, who ran for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

John Tyler is off next week, and returns to action Oct. 26 at home against McKinney North.
