TEXARKANA -- Devuntay Walker ran for two touchdowns and Texas High held Sulphur Springs scoreless in the second half in the No. 8 Tigers' 23-10 win over the Wildcats in District 16-5A action Friday night.

Walker ran 16 times for 165 yards and scored the Tigers' (6-0, 2-0) first and last touchdowns of the game. His 69-yard touchdown late in the third quarter was the game's only score of the second half.

Texas High quarterback Cade Pearson completed 10 of 14 passes for 169 yards and an 8-yard touchdown to Quan Hampton, which gave the Tigers a 14-7 lead in the first quarter.

Hampton caught eight of Pearson's 10 completions for 123 yards.

Lawrence Worth scored Sulphur Springs' only touchdown on a 7-yard run midway through the first quarter which tied the game at 7-7.

Ryan Humphries completed 18 of 30 passes for 176 yards with two interceptions for Sulphur Springs. (2-5, 1-2)

Texas High continues district play at Mount Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. Friday while Sulphur Springs has a week off.
