District 20-2A Track Meet: Tatum Takes Boys + Girls Crowns

WHITE OAK -- Tatum swept the boys and girls championships Thursday at the District 20-2A track and field meet at Roughneck Stadium.

Tatum's boys scored 149 points to edge Jefferson (133) for first place, followed by New Diana (122) in third.

Jaylon Shans-Sheppard led the Eagles with 24 points, which was second in the individual race behind Jefferson's Deion Williams (31). Waskom's Kevin Johnson was third with 21.

The Lady Eagles had the second, third, and fourth top individual scorers en route to a meet-best 184 points. White Oak finished second with 146 points and Jefferson (101) was third.

Elysian Fields' Kaylee Prather scored a meet-high 34 points, followed by Tatum's trio of athletes: Ro'neshia Simpson (25), Kiana Turner (20), and Kenija Collier (20). White Oak's Nour Hussein also scored 20 points.

The top four finishers in each event qualified for next week's area meet in Tatum.
