EDGEWOOD -- The Bulldogs got their first win of the season Friday, and it came at the perfect time.

Edgewood (1-5, 1-0) has a share of the early lead in District 6-3A Division II thanks to a 22-8 win over Alba-Golden, which dropped to 4-2 and 0-1 in the league.

It was a brutal night for the Panthers offense. The unit gained 185 yards, 162 of the tallies coming on the ground.

Dalton Wright led the way for Alba-Golden with 19 carries, 54 yards and the team's lone touchdown. Gus Peacock picked up 50 yards.

Edgewood's statistics were not available.

Alba-Golden led 8-6 at halftime. The Bulldogs took the lead on a touchdown in the third quarter and added a final score in the final period.
