Eleven East Texas Teams Ranked in Latest TGCA Volleyball Poll

Almost a dozen East Texas volleyball teams were ranked in Monday's Texas Girls Coaches Association's poll, including seven in Class 3A.

Spring Hill leads the charge at No. 4 in the 3A poll, followed by No. 11 Van, No. 12 Pleasant Grove, No. 13 Mineola, No. 14 Carthage, No. 18 Gilmer, and No. 23 Diboll.

Spring Hill hosts Gilmer on Tuesday in a matchup of top 20 teams in the District 16-3A race. That's also the case in Carthage as the Lady Dawgs host Diboll in a big Distirct 20-3A bout.

Other Tuesday 3A matches include Athens at Van and Brownsboro at Mineola.

In Class 4A, Pine Tree remained in the top 10 at No. 8. The Lady Pirates visit rival Hallsville on Tuesday. Two top 15 teams meet Tuesday in White Oak when the No. 7 Ladynecks host No. 15 New Diana in a big District 17-2A tilt.

Cayuga represents East Texas Class A schools in this week's TGCA poll. The Ladycats are No. 8 and host Wortham on Tuesday.
