Elkhart Rolls To Bi-District Win Over Nacogdoches Central Heights

JACKSONVILLE -- The Elkhart Lady Elks opened the postseason with a 6-1 win over Nacogdoches Central Heights in their Class 3A Region III bi-district softball playoff Thursday night.

Robin Grant led the way for Elkhart (25-1) by going 2-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs. Molly Ormand doubled and drove in two, while Camryn Rucker and Sheyenne Heuer collected two hits apeice.

Rucker got the win in the circle, striking out eight in seven innings of work.

Elkhart will face the winner between Anahuac and Boling next week in the area round of the playoffs.
