Elysian Fields Remains Unbeaten With 40-20 Win Over Waskom
WASKOM -- The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets stayed perfect on the season with a 40-20 victory over rival Waskom at Wildcat Stadium on Friday night.
Elysian Fields (7-0, 3-0 in District 9-3A Division II) ripped off 27 consecutive points in the second and third quarters to take command.
Waskom's T.K. Hamilton scored twice in the first half to help the Wildcats (2-4, 0-2) to a 14-7 lead, but Elysian Fields quarterback Logan Hughes tossed a pair of touchdown passes to even the game at 14-14.
The first score was a 7-yarder to Braden Shaffer, and the second was an 85-yard strike to Dylan Parker.
Chris Smith then scored on runs of 19, 4, and 2 yards to help EF take a commanding 33-13 lead. Nathan Johnson added a touchdown run to push the lead to 27 points.
Elysian Fields is on bye next week, while Waskom plays at Beckville.
