ENNIS -- Tycen Thompson scored three touchdowns and Ennis held Jacksonville to 109 yards of offense in a 57-0 shutout on the Lions' homecoming Friday night.

Thompson rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and added three catches for 53 yards and two more scores to help Ennis (2-2, 1-0) open District 16-5A with a win.

Kyre Holloway also reached triple digits rushing, racking up 122 yards on 10 carries, while Treyvon Smith added seven attempts for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Ennis quarterback Tre Elliott completed 7 of 16 passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns, both to Thompson, who scored all of his touchdowns in the first half.

Jacksonville (1-3, 0-1) could only muster 57 yards rushing on 34 attempts, and quarterback Cameron High completed 5 of 11 pass attempts for 33 yards. He also led the Indians on the ground with 16 carries for 43 yards.

Tradarrious Waggoner caught six passes for 52 yards for Jacksonville in the loss.
