ENNIS -- Tycen Thompson rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns, helping Ennis send Nacogdoches to its third consecutive loss, 27-14 on Friday night at Lion Memorial Stadium.

Nacogdoches (4-5, 1-3) is now in a three-way tie with Whitehouse (5-4, 1-3) and Lindale (2-7, 1-3) for fourth place in District 17-5A with one week remaining. The Dragons host Jacksonville (5-4, 2-2) next Friday night in the regular-season finale.

Thompson's scoring runs covered 3 and 45 yards, the latter giving Ennis (6-3, 3-1) a 20-7 lead with 4:49 remaining in the third quarter.

James Harris' 24-yard touchdown run pushed the Lions' lead to 27-7 with 2:30 to play in the fourth. Nacogdoches scored on the ensuing possession when Noah Hildebrand connected with Kobe Poole for a 47-yard touchdown.

Phillip Jones led Nacogdoches on the night with 150 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries.

Ennis wraps up the regular season next Friday night at Corsicana (6-3, 4-0).
