12.Damien Haskins

  • Running back
  • New Boston
  • 5-9, 210
  • committed to Memphis; additional offers from Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico, ULM; interest from Arkansas, Baylor, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas Tech, Texas State (per Haskins)

No longer in the shadow of New Boston’s career rushing leader, Damien Haskins is primed for a huge senior season.

Haskins played the past two seasons behind Shakeem Jefferson, who rushed for more than 6,000 yards and 79 touchdowns from 2009-11, including back-to-back campaigns of 2,483 yards/33 TDs and 2,847 yards/38 TDs in 2010-11. But Haskins was a weapon, too, rushing for almost 1,200 yards to give the Lions a 4,000-yard, 1-2 ground game punch.

With a powerful frame, Haskins is built to do even more damage as the feature back in 2012. Already with five Division I FBS offers in hand -- including his Memphis commitment -- New Boston’s top offensive weapon should continue to garner recruiting attention throughout his senior season.

The ETSN 25 countdown so far ...
