16.Patrick Brown

  • Athlete (receiver, defensive back, kick returner)
  • Henderson
  • 5-10, 170
  • offers from Central Arkansas, New Mexico State, ULM; interest from Baylor (per Henderson coach Dickey Meeks)

If there were ever a player who defines the “athlete” label, it’s Patrick “Monster” Brown.

The Henderson playmaker isn’t only a two-way standout, he’s a three-phase star. As in, he’s proven almost impossible to stop even on special teams, where he accumulated six return touchdowns in 2011. Brown scored 20 touchdowns five different ways as a junior -- receiving (10), punt returns (5), rushing (3), kickoff return (1), fumble return (1) -- when he averaged 12.7 yards per offensive touch (43 catches, 24 rushes).

Henderson will lean on Brown even more this season after the offseason graduations of QB Del Barnes (Cornell), ATH Lamarcus “Pee Wee” Brown (SFA; Patrick’s older brother), and RB Jay O’Neal. More reliance on Patrick should give him more opportunities to shine, which should lead to more Division I FBS offers. He has two right now, and Henderson coach Dickey Meeks said Baylor has shown a lot of interest in the versatile game-changer.
