The defensive line is a strength in East Texas this season, especially on the interior. That’s where Jonathan Hunt excels.

Hunt and the Tigers held their six district opponents to 18.7 points per game last season. Most of that defense graduated, but veteran coach Barry Norton will have Hunt and junior linebacker Anthony Rhone to build around. Rhone will be a highly coveted recruit in the 2014 class.

While Hunt’s height is probably the reason for his lack of offers at this point, his girth, quickness and visibility -- playing for a high-profile program that is frequented by recruiters -- should get him more exposure as his senior season progresses. Playing a position where quality players are hard to find shouldn’t hurt, either.
