Dylan Cantrell had an enormous junior season teaming up with former Whitehouse standout Jonathan Aldridge. The Texas Tech commit caught 87 passes for more than 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns to make a name for himself in recruiting circles and rise out of the shadows of Aldridge and former Whitehouse superstar Trey Metoyer, who is now at Oklahoma.

Cantrell will help break in a new quarterback -- junior Patrick Mahomes, who started at safety in 2011, or junior Ryan Cheatham -- after the graduation of record-setting Whitehouse QB Hunter Taylor. The new quarterbacks' ability to take over the QB reins and continue Whitehouse’s well established passing tradition will impact Cantrell’s likelihood of matching or exceeding the huge statistics he compiled as a junior.

Cantrell, who started his senior season with a big performance against Gilmer in a scrimmage, may have the largest offer list of any East Texas recruit, but he told ETSN.fm recently that he’s a solid commitment to Texas Tech.
