The Gilmer Buckeyes needed a touchdown pass in the final seconds to knock off Tatum last Friday, and hold onto to the No. 1 spot in this week's ETSN.fm East Texas Class 4A poll.

Gilmer (3-0), which held a 20-point halftime lead, needed a clutch fourth-quarter drive to remain unbeaten on the young season. Tatum (1-1), despite the loss, moved up two spots to No. 3 in this week's rankings.

Kilgore (1-2) picked up its first win of the season -- 40-7 over Pine Tree -- and moved up a spot to No. 2, while Gladewater (2-1) fell two positions after its first loss of the year -- a 42-21 loss to St. Thomas More out of Lafayette, La., last Friday night.

Atlanta (3-0) and Van (3-0) each moved up one spot, while Carthage (1-2) dropped three spots to No. 7 after a 34-14 home loss to Nacogdoches.
