ETSN.fm 4A/2A/1A Week 4 Playoff Podcast: Eight Teams Playing Regional Finals

East Texas has 12 teams remaining in the football playoffs, and this podcast discusses the eight squads left in Classes 4A, 2A, and 1A.

ETSN.fm staff members Gabe Brooks and Clint Buckley talk John Tyler's penchant for halftime adjusts entering the Lions' 4A Division I Region II championship, as well as the all-East Texas 2A Division I Region II title between District 8-2A D-I rivals New Boston and Daingerfield. New Boston edged Daingerfield 38-37 in the October meeting.

Can anyone stop Newton? The Eagles, coming off an 82-point outing vs. Grandview, face a solid Franklin running game that ousted Tatum 49-30 in this week's 2A D-I Region III final.

In 2A Division II, another all-East Texas matchup features unbeaten Hughes Springs and Elysian Fields, teams that share District 9-2A D-II. Hughes Springs won the first meeting 55-14, but EF avenged an early-season loss to Arp a week ago, so it's not out of the question that the Yellow Jackets are primed for another redemption win in the Region III title.

Alto tries to prevent Mart from eliminating all three playoff teams from District 10-A Division I in Friday's 1A D-I Region III final, while defending 1A Division II state champion Tenaha is rolling into its Region III final against a strong Frost team that has proven the doubters wrong.
