A move up shouldn't scare Timpson.

The Bears move from 2A D-II to 2A D-I this season after a regional final appearance in 2017. They return 12 starters and look capable of making the playoffs once again.

Jordan Osby returns at running back after rushing for 2,026 yards and 28 touchdowns this past season. Jon Grogan, who played quarterback in 2017, is also back and has a weapon in receiver Cam Berry.

In Timpson's 11 wins its defense limited opponents to an average of just 15 points per game. Nictaeo Scourton and Jarrett Page will look to lead that unit in 2018.

Look for the Bears to be right back in the thick of the playoff race this season. They have a tough district with Tenaha, Garrison, Linden-Kildare, Joaquin, Beckville and Harleton.  But they should be Abel to weather the storm.
