There's more than a few well-known seniors in East Texas.

One of them, Keontae Burns, plays for the Pittsburg Pirates. Burns is a receiver and defensive back with offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Texas A&M and many more FBS schools. He posted 631 yards receiving and five touchdowns this past season and will look to lead Pittsburg into 2018.

He is one of the reasons the Pirates come in at No. 7 in the ETSN.fm 4A poll. However, Pittsburg is plenty more than Burns.

It returns two-way player Keithlen Griffin, who also plays receiver and defensive back. Griffin stood out on defense with five interceptions and 11 pass break ups a year ago. Jaylon Jimmerson is back at quarterback after putting up more than 2,000 total yards and 29 touchdowns and running back Jordan Turner will look to build on a 1,000-yard season.

Defensively, the Pirates will look to linebackers Camryn Edney and Mason Monts to lead the unit along with Griffin and Burns.

Brad Baca has a lot of talent on his hands after a 6-5 effort and a bi-district finish last season. The Pirates should finish much better than that this year, though they will have their work cut out in a district with Gilmer, Pleasant Grove, Liberty-Eylau and more.
