While it didn't end with a trip to the playoffs, the first season under head coach Kurt Traylor was a step in the right direction for Tyler Lee.

The Red Raiders defeated crosstown rival John Tyler on the final night of the regular season to finish 6-4, the team's first winning record since 2008.

But Lee is looking for more in 2018. The Red Raiders are ranked No. 3 in ETSN.fm's Preseason Class 6A/5A Poll.

The Red Raiders return 12 starters, including eight on the offensive side of the ball. Lee will need a new quarterback following the graduation of Syracuse signee Chance Amie, but the Raiders should be set just about everywhere else.

Ladarius Wickware is back at running back following consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, while Zaylon Walker and Te'vion Massey will stand out at receiver. Jamal Ligon is a Division I recruit that will play both fullback and linebacker.

The offensive line will be a strength with the return of Arkansas commit Beaux Limmer and fellow senior Nathan Kuehn.

Ligon and fellow linebacker Jordan Printers will lead the defense.
