Waskom has won back-to-back state championships, 31 consecutive games, and is 46-2 since the start of the 2013 season.

Where do the Wildcats go from here?

One thing is for sure: the expectations remain as high as ever for Waskom, which checks in at No. 4 in the ETSN.fm Preseason Class 3A Poll.

Waskom coach Whitney Keeling will have his hands full in finding replacements for several key impact performers from last year's 16-0 squad, including four-year starter and two-time championship game MVP Chan Amie (SMU).

The Wildcats also lost quarterback Dylan Harkrider, WR/DB Eric Stephens III, and linebacker Mike Reason to graduation.

But the future might be as bright as ever for Waskom, which brings back the corps of its offensive line -- Jack Smith, Bradley Cochran, and Chris Smith, who all started as sophomores in 2015.

Defensively, Waskom will rely on senior safety Jason Jinks, and defensive end Keylon Johnson, who racked up six sacks last season.
