Newton, New Boston, and Troup kept their strangleholds on the top three spots, but the fourth and fifth spots saw new face in the ETSN.fm Week 8 2A Top 10.

No. 1 Newton (7-0) destroyed Kountze 64-10, while No. 2 New Boston (7-0) was off. Third-ranked Troup (7-0) came back to beat Tatum 14-10 on the road.

Tatum's loss dropped the 5-2 Eagles from fourth to sixth. That pushed Hughes Springs (7-0) from fifth to fourth following the Mustangs' 61-0 rout of Linden-Kildare, and nudged Daingerfield (5-3) from sixth to fifth following the Tigers' 51-7 blowout of Pattonville Prairiland.

The final four spots remained the same. No. 7 Jefferson (6-1) thumped Sabine 50-20, while No. 8 Mount Vernon (7-0) hammered Queen City 42-7 to set up a District 8-2A Division I showdown at Daingerfield this Friday. No. 9 Arp (5-2) crushed Union Grove 52-21, and tenth-ranked White Oak (5-2) shut out Harmony 34-0.
