ETSN.fm Week 9 5A/4A Poll: Top Four Win Big to Hold Spots

The top four teams won by an average of 38.8 points to hold their spots in the ETSN.fm Week 9 5A/4A Top 7.

We've eliminated the final three spots in the poll to concentrate on the seven 5A and 4A teams in East Texas that have winning records. The other seven teams -- Jacksonville, Tyler Lee, Texas High, Lindale, Marshall, Pine Tree, and Nacogdoches -- all have losing records, and only Marshall won this past week.

No. 1 John Tyler (7-1) remained at the top after ripping Jacksonville 59-7, while Longview (5-3) retrained the No. 2 spot thanks to a 52-3 drilling of North Mesquite.

No. 3 Whitehouse (8-0) kept its perfect season alive with a 52-21 blowout of Nacogdoches. Lufkin (5-3) pounded The Woodlands College Park 40-7 to hang on to the No. 4 spot.

Sulphur Springs (6-2) moved up one spot to fifth following the Wildcats' 38-31 win at Hallsville (6-2), which fell from fifth to seventh after the loss. That helped Mount Pleasant (6-2) jump up a spot to No. 6 following a 35-23 win at Texas High.
