TEXARKANA -- Pleasant Grove outscored Linden-Kildare by 17 points in the first quarter and coasted from there to take a 60-39 girls basketball home win Tuesday night.

Pleasant Grove led 21-4 after the first and 37-13 at halftime to pull away for the victory.

Renee Walker led PG with 19 points, while Kelsey Kempson had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Brette Wacha scored 16 points and Aubrey Ashby had eight points and 10 rebounds. Carley Barrett added five points for Pleasant Grove, which

Shelby Norwood scored a team-best 12 points for Linden-Kildare, which got 10 points from Haylee Smoak, plus nine points and nine boards from Shardai Love. Shenan Gree chipped in with eight points.

Ten of Linden-Kildare's 14 field-goal makes were three-pointers, but PG made 22 two-pointers to the Lady Tigers' four. Pleasant Grove also shot 9-for-13 from the free-throw line compared to Linden-Kildare's 3-for-8 shooting.

Both teams head Thursday to weekend tournaments. Pleasant Grove opens Spring Hill's JoAnn Sparks Shootout, while Linden-Kildare travels to the Hughes Springs Tournament.
