Fifteen East Texas Teams Ranked in TGCA Softball Polls

Fifteen East Texas teams were ranked in Monday's release of the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association softball polls.

No East Texas schools in Class 5A or Class 4A were ranked, but the region's Class 3A schools compensated.

No. 4 Rusk and No. 5 Henderson led a seven-team East Texas contingent that also included No. 8 Gladewater, No. 10 Jasper, No. 12 Lufkin Hudson, No. 13 Mineola, and No. 25 Gilmer.

Class 2A and Class A had four teams apiece in this week's rankings.

Seventh-ranked Troup headed up the 2A teams, followed by No. 15 Central Heights, No. 20 Tatum, and No. 22 Sabine.

Alto and Harleton gave East Texas a pair of top-five 1A teams at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Beckville was ranked 12th and Saltillo was No. 17.
