JaMycal Hasty is one of East Texas' top prospects in the 2015 class and at least one major program has already taken notice.

Longview coach John King confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Texas Tech has offered Hasty. ESPN.com first reported the offer.

The 5-foot-9, 184-pound Hasty enters Longview's spring practice, which started Wednesday, as the most likely candidate to take over the starting tailback spot vacated by 1,200-yard rusher Tory White, who signed with Lamar in February.

Hasty ran for 338 yards and five touchdowns in 2012. Longview's second-round blowout of Dallas Jesuit served as Hasty's breakout game. White left the game with 240 yards on 12 carries after a second-quarter injury, and Hasty picked up where he left off, finishing with 102 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries as Longview beat Jesuit 57-25 behind 457 rushing yards.

Hasty is part of a talented 2015 Longview class that also includes quarterback Dezmond Chumley (6-0, 188), tight end/receiver Antonio Carter (6-2, 174), offensive tackle Broderick Washington (6-2, 285), and linebacker Jaylon Jackson (5-11, 197).
