Florida Atlantic Offers Texas High’s Tevailance Hunt

Florida Atlantic continued its strong recruiting presence in East Texas this week when the Owls offered another area prospect in the 2018 class.

Texas High wide receiver Tevailance Hunt reported via Twitter that Florida Atlantic offered him.

Hunt (6-2, 180), a Kansas commit, now has 13 Division I FBS scholarship offers. In addition to FAU and Kansas, Hunt holds offers from Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Houston, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Nevada, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, and Tulsa.

Florida Atlantic has now offered four East Texas who graduate in 2018. Hunt is joined by Tyler Lee quarterback Chance Amie, Henderson quarterback Trae Hall, and Kilgore receiver Jonathan Shepherd as FAU targets.

Hunt caught 36 passes for a team second-best 701 yards and 10 touchdowns last season as Texas High worked its way to a perfect 10-0 regular season. Texas High was upset in the first round of the Class 5A Division I playoffs.

Florida Atlantic made a splash in January with the hiring of Lane Kiffin as its next head coach. Kiffin had served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator for three seasons after stints as head coach at Tennessee and USC.

Kiffin also has been a head coach in the NFL. Al Davis hired Kiffin, 31 years old at the time, to lead the Oakland Raiders in 2007 after seeing his work as offensive coordinator at USC during the Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart era.

Florida Atlantic finished 3-9 last season as a member of Conference USA.

Hunt, like all college football prospects currently in their sophomore year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in December of 2018.
