BULLARD -- The Bullard Lady Panthers avenged their only District 16-4A loss with a 49-40 win over Gilmer on Friday night that forced a two-way tie atop the league standings.

Lexi Kirgan led the way for No. 22 Bullard (24-5, 6-1) with 28 points, while Sydney Foster added 10 points.

No. 20 Gilmer (20-7, 6-1) got 14 points from Ashlyn Ray in the losing cause. Destiny Brooks chipped in with eight points.

Both teams return to the court Tuesday night. Bullard hosts Spring Hill, while Gilmer travels to Chapel Hill.

 

Chapel HIll Keeps Pace

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- The Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs pulled to within one game of District 16-4A co-leaders Bullard and Gilmer with a 59-45 win over Kilgore on Friday.

Mykaela Alfred paced Chapel Hill (21-8, 5-2) with 23 points, while Princess Suell finished with 11 points.

Kilgore (7-21, 1-6) was led in defeat by Jamaria Thomas' 14 points. Mar'Shalie Lollie chipped in with 12 points.

Chapel Hill plays host to Gilmer, while Kilgore plays at Gladewater on Tuesday.

 

Martinsville Too Much For Beckville

BECKVILLE -- The Martinsville Lady Pirates secured a 51-38 win over Beckville on Friday in District 22-2A action.

Beckville was led in the losing effort by Jordan Tondreau, who finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. Chelcie Pierce contributed nine points and five boards.

Each teams returns to action Tuesday. Martinsville entertains Timpson, while Beckville travels to Joaquin.

Waskom Downs Elysian Fields

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- The 17th-ranked Waskom Wildcats earned a 70-57 win at District 17-3A rival Elysian Fields on Friday night.

Kaleb Haynes led a balanced Waskom (10-5, 5-0) scoring effort with 17 points. Eric Stephens III finished with 14 points, while Keileon Johnson and Mike Reason added 12 points apiece.

Elysian Fields (7-11, 1-4) got a game-high 34 points from Sharay Ratliffe.

Both teams' seasons resume Tuesday night. Waskom hosts Jefferson, while Elysian Fields plays at Sabine.

 

No. 6 San Augustine Tops West Sabine

SAN AUGUSTINE -- The sixth-ranked San Augustine Wolves picked up a 72-59 win over West Sabine on Friday in District 23-2A action.

Q. Borders led San Augustine (19-3) with 16 points. Mark Nash added 12 points, while Chris Rodgers finished with 11.

West Sabine's DeMarie' Smith led all scorers with 31 points.

The seasons pick back up for each team Tuesday. San Augustine plays at Broaddus, while West Sabine entertains Zavalla.
