NACOGDOCHES -- Marshall continued its impressive 2013-14 basketball season with a 63-36 win at Nacogdoches on Friday night.

The win pushed the Mavericks to 21-2 on the season. Marshall's Jay McKnight and Tiandre Jackson-Young scored 13 points apiece.

Rockwell Leads Tatum Past Waskom

WASKOM -- Robbie Rockwell hit six three-pointers to lead Class 2A No. 5 Tatum to an impressive 64-37 win at Waskom on Friday.

Waskom's loss came after the Wildcats beat two-time defending state champion White Oak in their last game.

Rockwell finished with a game-high 27 points, while Chaston Brooks added 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Martin Williams scored nine points. Klifton Willis contributed four points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while Jahee Johnson had four points and seven rebounds.

Kevin Johnson led Waskom, which fell to 2-1 in district, with 14 points. Tatum's victory gave the Eagles a 17-4 overall record and 3-0 in district play.

Frankston Stifles Harmony

HARMONY -- Gunnar Murphy scored 14 points and Kendrick Rogers added 12 to lead Frankston to a defense-centric 49-26 victory at Harmony on Friday evening.

Frankston's Caleb Whitehurst added 11 points as the Indians improved to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in district. Ozzie Buckner scored eight points.

Harmony's Dalton Brenner hit three three-pointers to finish with 11 points, while Austin Spurlock hit a pair from long range and had nine points.

Dallardsville Big Sandy Pulls Away from San Augustine

DALLARDSVILLE -- Class A Division I No. 6 Dallardsville Big Sandy led 10th-ranked San Augustine by only seven points at halftime, but separated from the Wolves in the final two periods for a 90-65 win.

Jarvis Smith scored 16 points for San Augustine, which fell to 15-7. Jadarrian Taylor netted 11 points.

Whitehouse Beats Jacksonville in Triple OT

WHITEHOUSE -- A 15-3 run in the third overtime gave Whitehouse a 56-44 victory over Jacksonville on Friday night.

The game was tied 31-31 through regulation before the teams tied 33-33 through one overtime and 41-41 through two extra periods.

Kaitlyn Anderson and Cati Heredia scored 12 points apiece for Whitehouse, which improved to 9-7 overall and 1-0 in District 16-4A. Ashton Ates scored 11 points. Morgan Downs and Madyson Wilkins chipped in six apiece.

Tasheena Canady led Jacksonville (11-9, 0-1) with 14 points. Teammate Damonica Franklin netted 13, while Moquesha Robertson and Incahantra Kendrick tallied eight apiece.

Whitehouse travels to Nacogdoches at 6 p.m. Tuesday, which is the same time Jacksonville hosts John Tyler.

Bullard Routs Gladewater

BULLARD -- Three players scored in double figures to lead Bullard to a 65-20 District 16-3A home victory Friday against Gladewater.

Bridgette Taylor's 25 points led Bullard, which improved to 17-5 overall and 2-1 in district. Lexi Kirgan scored 16 points, while Lexi Abercrombie added 13.

Mineola Tops Van in 15-3A Opener

MINEOLA -- Sister Green scored 15 points to lead Mineola to a 47-31 District 15-3A-opening victory over Van on Friday evening.

Raven Johnson added 10 points for Mineola, which improved to 11-10 overall. Kelsey Green netted eight points and Jordan Dawson finished with six.

Mineola hosts Brownsboro on Tuesday.

Canton Thumps Athens

CANTON -- Kelly Wilkerson scored 21 points, while Courtney Roberts had 14 points, eight steals, and four assists to lead Canton to an 85-45 victory against Athens.

Madison McCaffity scored 17 points for the Lady Eagles, who improved to 16-5 overall and 1-0 in District 15-3A. Holly Raitz scored 12 points.

Mount Vernon Stays Unbeaten in District

PARIS -- Mount Vernon won 42-38 at Paris Chisum on Friday to remain perfect in district play.

The Lady Tigers pushed their league record to 5-0, while Chisum fell to 3-2.

Winona Edges Sabine

WINONA -- Kawaii Gordon and Jamece Gulley led Winona to a 42-39 victory against Sabine on Friday.

Gordon had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and six steals, while Gulley added 18 points, five rebounds, and two steals for Winona, which improved to 14-2.

Winona's Shay Virgil and Darrisha Crawford combined for 19 rebounds.

Martin's Mill Cruises Past La Poynor

La POYNOR -- Cheyenne's Brown 17 points led Martin's Mill to a 47-34 win at La Poynor on Friday afternoon.

Cassidy McCoy scored 11 points, while Alyssa Pate added 10 for Martin's Mill, which improved to 21-2 overall and 4-0 in district. McCoy hit three three-pointers and Pate hit two.

Big Sandy visits Martin's Mill at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday

Carlisle Beats Beckville

PRICE -- Seven different players scored for Carlisle on Friday in a 34-26 district home victory against Beckville.

Hannah Hamilton's eight points led Carlisle's balanced scoring. Beckville's Devin Woodall had six points and seven rebounds, while Ashley Cook added five points and eight rebounds.

Beckville visits La Poynor at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
