HALLSVILLE -- Marshall started the District 14-4A schedule with a bang Friday night, when Chris Brown scored 16 points and Shimar Jones added 14 to lead the Mavs to a 92-49 victory at Hallsville.

The win pushed Marshall to 22-3 overall and 1-0 in league play. Tiandre Jackson-Young and T.J. Maxfield scored 13 points apiece. Gerad Williams added 12.

Texas High Beats Pine Tree

LONGVIEW -- Jamal Ray scored 14 points and Jarion Anderson added 12 to lead Texas High's 73-47 win at Pine Tree on Friday night.

Texas High's Darion Kidd and Anthony Rhone scored 10 points apiece, while Success Blevins added nine.

Pine Tree's Caleb Chumley scored a game-high 18 points. Teammate Dalvin Manns dropped 13 points, while Blake Adams had 12.

Pollok Central Wins at Lufkin Hudson

HUDSON -- Pollok Central notched a District 20-3A victory Friday night with a 44-40 win at Lufkin Hudson.

The win pushed Central's record to 18-7 on the year.

No. 18 Athens Runs Past Mabank

ATHENS -- Anthony Sanders scored 24 points and Ryan Jefferson added 17 to lead 18th-ranked Athens to a 71-39 District 15-3A-opening home win Friday night against Mabank.

Courtland Lyons scored nine points, while Kynden Crist had six. Josh Garrett contributed four points and seven rebounds.

Athens, which improved to 18-1 on the season, visits Mineola on Tuesday evening.

No. 5 Tatum Routs Elysian Fields

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- Robbie Rockwell hit four three-pointers and led five Tatum double-figure scorers in a 109-30 road rout of Elysian Fields on Friday night.

Rockwell scored a game-high 19 points for Tatum (19-4, 5-0), while Jahee Johnson and Donovan Centers (six steals) scored 17 and 16, respectively. Jakob'y Lee had 13 points and five rebounds. Tatum's Chaston Brooks added 12 points and seven assists, while Klifton Willis and Devonte Alexander combined for 15 points.

Jonathan Morris led Elysian Fields with 10 points. The Yellow Jackets fell to 2-3 in district play.

West Rusk Downs Harmony

ROSEWOOD -- Breyon Thurman's 23 points led three West Rusk Raiders in double figures in a 68-49 win at Harmony on Friday night.

Eric Harder scored 17 for West Rusk, which improved to 2-3 in district. Teammate Dee Starling netted 10 points and Tyrice Ross had seven.

Austin Spurlock's 12 points, including two three-pointers, led Harmony, which fell to 2-13 overall and 0-5 in district. Levi Thompson had eight points and 17 rebounds, while Bentley Miner scored 11 points. Caleb Hart and Dalton Brenner combined for 13 points.

Perimeter Game Fuels Martin's Mill Win vs. Overton

MARTIN'S MILL -- Fourteen three-pointers powered Martin's Mill to a 68-12 win against Overton on Friday night.

Davis Moore hit seven threes to finish with a game-high 23 points, while Logan Jenkins hit three treys and netted 11 points. Hunter Conway scored seven points. July Latimer, who hit two triples, and Dylan Weatherford each chipped in six points.

The win pushed Martin's Mill to 18-5 overall and 5-0 in district.

Balance Leads San Augustine Past Zavalla

SAN AUGUSTINE -- Six Wolves scored at least nine points as San Augustine pulled away from Zavalla for an 85-54 victory Friday night.

JaMikel Roberts' 16 points and 11 rebounds led San Augustine, which got 10 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks from Jarvis Smith. J.D. Brown scored 14 points and Jordan Garrett added 13.

San Augustine's Jeremy Jenkins and Jadarrian Taylor scored nine points apiece. The Wolves improved to 17-7 overall and 1-0 in district with the win.

Verlo Levels Lifts Tyler Grace

CEDAR HILL -- Verlo Levels had 29 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Tyler Grace Cougars to a 52-44 win over Cedar Hill Trinity Christian in TAPPS District 2-4A action on Friday.

Phillip McKinney added seven points and five assists, Tanner Starr had seven points and Andrew Melhart finished with four points, eight rebounds and three assists in the win.

Tyler Grace hosts Dallas Shelton on Tuesday.

Canton Remains Unbeaten in 15-3A

CANTON -- Kassidy Wilkerson and Courtney Roberts led Canton to its third consecutive District 15-3A victory in a 43-34 triumph Friday against Mineola.

Wilkerson had 12 points and seven steals, while Roberts added 12 points, including two three-pointers. Holly Raitz had five points and a team-high five assists. Lilly Nelson scored eight points.

Jordan Dawson's 11 points led Mineola, which fell to 1-2 in district. The win pushed Canton to 18-5 overall and 3-0 in 15-3A.

Bullard Runs Away from Henderson

BULLARD -- Bridgette Taylor and Lexi Kirgan combined for 41 points to fuel Bullard's 61-35 home win Friday against Henderson.

Taylor scored a game-high 23 points, while Kirgan added 18 for the Lady Panthers, who improved to 18-6 overall and 3-2 in District 16-3A.

Bullard's Taylor Frederick and Brittany Hinton scored eight points apiece.

Kawaii Gordon's Near Triple-Double Powers Winona

WINONA -- Kawaii Gordon had a monster night to lead Winona to a 53-44 win against Hawkins on Friday night.

Gordon finished with 22 points, 19 rebounds, and eight steals as Winona improved to 15-3 overall and 4-3 in district.

Teammate Darrisha Crawford had 14 points, six rebounds, and six steals, while Shay Virgil recorded five points and 13 boards. Jamece Gulley had six points and eight rebounds.

No. 1 Martin's Mill Crushes Overton

MARTIN'S MILL -- Cheyenne Brown's 20 points keyed top-ranked Martin's Mill's 61-14 rout of Overton on Friday evening.

Madi Daniel and Hailey Hawes scored eight points apiece for Martin's Mill, which moved to 23-2 overall and 6-0 in district. Hailey Celsur and Alyssa Pate combined for 13 points.

No. 10 Slocum Survives Normangee

NORMANGEE -- Slocum kept its district record perfect with a 49-46 win at Normangee on Friday night.

The victory pushed the 10th-ranked Lady Mustangs to 19-5 overall and 2-0 in district play.
