Friday Basketball Roundup: State-Ranked Bullard + Chapel Hill Girls Score District Wins

GLADEWATER -- The 17th-ranked Bullard Lady Panthers rolled to a 57-19 win over Gladewater on Friday night in District 16-4A action.

Lexi Kirgan led Bullard with 17 points, while Hannah Lloyd chipped in with 16 points, which included five 3-pointers. Lauren Zachry finished with 10 points in the win.

Bullard's season resumes Tuesday at home against Gilmer.

Chapel Hill Outlasts Spring Hill

LONGVIEW -- The No. 22 Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs opened District 16-4A with a 54-48 win over Spring Hill on Friday.

Mykaela Alfred and Daijia Maddox led Chapel Hill (17-6, 1-0) with 16 points apiece.

Spring Hill (13-4, 0-1) was led in defeat by Ann Hollas' 25 points. Kayla Crowe added 13 points.

Shelbyville Edges Beckville

BECKVILLE -- The Shelbyville Lady Dragons earned a 32-28 win over Beckville in District 22-2A action Friday.

Jabria Jenkins led Shelbyville with 16 points.

Beckville (8-6, 0-1) was paced by Ashley Cook, who finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and three steals.

Tyler Grace Rolls to Big Win

FRISCO -- The Tyler Grace Lady Cougars earned an easy 55-27 win over Frisco Legacy Christian in TAPPS District 2-4A action on Friday.

Addie Daughtry led the way for Grace (16-6, 1-1) with 26 points, while Parker Daughtry contributed 15 points.

Grace's season resumes Tuesday at home against Dallas Shelton.

Mineola Downs Harmony

HARMONY -- The Mineola Yellowjackets remained unbeaten in District 14-3A with a 49-37 win over Harmony on Friday night.

Raphael Ogueri led Mineola (3-0 in district) with 15 points. Cameron Sorenson added 10 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers, while Kourtland Sinches knocked down one 3 and finished with seven points.

Harmony (9-8, 0-3) was led by Bentley Miner's 10 points. Dalton Brenner hit two 3's and finished with eight points, while Jacob Kimmen chipped in with seven points, nine rebounds, and four steals.

Waskom Edges Carthage

WASKOM -- The Waskom Wildcats earned a 56-53 win over Carthage on Friday night.

Waskom (4-5) was led by Kaleb Haynes, who finished with 23 points. Eric Stephens III added 13 points, while Mike Reason had 10 points.

Carthage was paced by Jarrod McLin's 20 points, while Jakevion McDaniel chipped in with 11 points.

No. 9 San Augustine Downs Shelbyville

SAN AUGUSTINE -- The ninth-ranked San Augustine Wolves scored a 62-57 win over Shelbyville on Friday night.

Chris Rodgers led San Augustine (14-3) with 17 points. Jaylon Taylor added 13 points, while Keonte Watts and Ced Thomas finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Laneville Rolls to Big Win

LANEVILLE -- The No. 4 Laneville Yellowjackets cruised to an 80-21 rout of Apple Springs in District 28-A action Friday night.

Jaylon Grant led the way for Laneville (10-9, 2-1) with 18 points, which included two 3-pointers, and added eight assists. DeTerrious Hart also finished with 18 points.

Jaden Johnson nailed four 3's and registered 14 points, LaDaruis Arnett added 13 points and seven steals, Christian Brantley had eight points and seven assists, Tralon Aleander had 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and six steals, while Jayden Hollins and LaDarius Lewis combined for nine points and 22 boards.
