LONGVIEW -- The Pine Tree Pirates captured their first District 14-4A win with a 46-43 defeat of Hallsville on Friday at the Pirate Center.

Blake Adams led Pine Tree with 17 points. Caleb Chumley added 12 points, while Dalvin Manns added eight in the winning effort.

Hallsville was led by Gabe Powlak, who finished with 15 points. Nolan Johnson chipped in with 11.

Pine Tree is at Marshall on Tuesday, while Hallsville hosts Sulphur Springs.

No. 11 Athens Crushes Mineola

ATHENS -- The 11th-ranked Athens Hornets continued their District 15-3A dominance with a 79-34 win over Mineola on Friday.

Ryan Jefferson led Athens (24-1, 7-0) with 22 points. Anthony Sanders added 14 points and six rebounds, Kynden Crist had 10 points and Courtland Lyons chipped in with nine.

Athens is at Brownsboro, while Mineola hosts Mabank on Tuesday.

Second-Ranked Tatum Defeats Rival White Oak

WHITE OAK -- The second-ranked Tatum Eagles completed the regular-season sweep of District 17-2A rival White Oak with a 54-43 win Friday night.

Chaston Brooks led Tatum (25-4, 11-0) with 20 points to go with five rebounds. Donovan Centers added 11 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, while Martin Williams and Kilfton Willis (nine rebounds, three assists) added six points apiece.

White Oak, which fell to 7-4 in district, was led by Hayden Nichols' 13 points. Cass Carr added 12 points in the losing effort.

Tatum hosts Elysian Fields, while White Oak is at Jefferson on Tuesday.

Waskom Edges Jefferson

WASKOM -- Kevin Johnson's putback off a missed layup as time expired sent the Waskom Wildcats to a thrilling 65-64 win over Jefferson in District 17-2A action Friday night.

Junebug Johnson led Waskom (11-6, 9-2) with 15 points. Eric Stephens and Kevin Johnson had 13 points apiece, while Kaleb Haynes finished with 10 in the winning effort.

Devin Hodge paced Jefferson with a game-high 23 points, while LeTaurus Gaderson added 21 in defeat.

Waskom is at Ore City, while Jefferson hosts White Oak on Tuesday.

Sabine Too Much For Harmony

HARMONY -- The Sabine Cardinals earned a 70-61 win over Harmony on Friday in District 18-2A action.

Ivan Padron led Sabine (8-3 in district) with 22 points. O'Shean Jagot added 16 points, while Tanner Sharp hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.

Bentley Miner paced Harmony (3-18, 1-10) with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Austin Spurlock also had 23 points, which included six 3-pointers, while Levi Thompson finished the night with seven points, 20 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Sabine hosts Arp, while Harmony is at West Rusk on Tuesday.

No. 15 San Augustine Overwhelms Brookeland

SAN AUGUSTINE -- The 15th-ranked San Augustine cruised to a 115-41 rout of Brookeland on Friday in District 23-A Division I action.

Jarvis Smith led a group of six San Augustine (22-8, 6-1) players in double figures with 21 points. Dez Randle added 20 points, and he was followed by Jordan Garrett (19), JD Brown (16), Jamikel Roberts (13) and Jadarrian Taylor (10).

San Augustine continues its season Tuesday at Lufkin Pineywoods Academy.

Second-Ranked Laneville Downs No. 7 Douglass

LANEVILLE -- The second-ranked Laneville Yellow Jackets earned a 53-44 win over No. 7 Douglass on Friday in District 25-A Division II competition.

Tra Alexander led Laneville (23-6, 7-1) with 18 points. Kendrick Anderson added 12 points, while Tiarel Franklin and Ty Johnson chipped in with 10 points apeice.

Douglass (22-6, 7-3) was led by Bryce Westbrook's 13 points.

Laneville is at Apple Springs on Saturday in a game that was rescheduled because of inclement weather. Douglass hosts No. 3 Oakwood on Tuesday.

No. 22 Pleasant Grove Routs Atlanta

ATLANTA -- The 22nd-ranked Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks cruised to a 70-34 win over Atlanta on Friday in District 13-3A action.

Brette Wacha paced Pleasant Grove (24-4, 9-0) with 23 points. Faith Lipham and Renee Walker each 10 points apiece.

Atlanta (13-12, 2-7) was led by Crystal Jones, who finished with 10 points. Dani Birmingham added nine points in the losing effort.

Pleasant Grove hosts Paris, while Atlanta travels to Paris North Lamar on Tuesday.

Bullard Rolls Past Chapel Hill

BULLARD -- The Bullard Lady Panthers rolled to a 68-30 rout of Chapel Hill in District 16-3A action on Friday night.

Bridgette Taylor led Bullard (23-6, 8-2) with 23 points, while Lexi Kirgan and Lexi Abercrombie added 12 points apiece in the win.

Bullard is at Henderson, while Chapel Hill hosts Kilgore on Tuesday.

Winona Takes Down West Rusk

WINONA -- The Winona Ladycats clinched a playoff spot with a 64-54 win over West Rusk on Friday night in District 18-2A competition.

Kawaii Gordon led the way for Winona (18-6, 7-6) with 21 points, 17 rebounds, four steals and three assists. Darrisha Crawford added 17 points, 11 boards and three steals and Jamece Gulley chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds. Shay Virgil added four points and 13 rebounds in the win.

The loss dropped West Rusk to 17-7 overall and 10-3 in district.

Winona is at Hawkins, and West Rusk hosts Harmony on Tuesday.

No. 1 Martin's Mill Dominates Big Sandy

BIG SANDY -- The top-ranked Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs remained perfect in District 17-A Division I with a 50-8 rout of Big Sandy on Friday.

Cheyenne Brown led Martin's Mill (28-2, 11-0) with 16 points, while Alyssa Pate and Jacee Greenlee finished with eight points apiece.

Martin's Mill concludes its regular season at Overton on Tuesday, while Big Sandy is at Beckville also on Tuesday.

No. 25 Cushing Defeats Wells

CUSHING -- The 25th-ranked Cushing Galkats clinched the District 21-A Division I championship with a 44-38 win over Wells on Friday night.

McKenzie Tucker led Cushing (24-4, 8-1) with 17 points. Sammy Jo Brashears added 14 points, while Kayla Moore finished with 12 in the winning effort.

Wells dropped to 5-3 in district play.

Cushing is at Alto, while Wells faces Neches on Tuesday.
