TEXARKANA -- The Texas High Lady Tigers rebounded from their first District 15-5A loss with a 59-44 rout of Marshall on Friday night.

Chanell Hayes led Texas High (15-5, 6-1) with 21 points and 12 rebounds, knocking down three 3-pointers. Jalissa Trotter added 20 points and 15 rebounds for the Lady Tigers, who outrebounded Marshall, 44-31, for the game.

Marshall (2-5 in district) was led by Kendra Washington, who finished with 20 points. Taylor Robinson added 10 points in the losing effort.

Both teams return to action Tuesday night. Texas High hosts Greenville, while Marshall entertains Mount Pleasant.

 

No. 11 Bullard Too Much For Spring Hill

BULLARD -- The 11th-ranked Bullard Lady Panthers remained unbeaten in District 16-3A with a 61-38 rout of Spring Hill on Friday night.

Bullard (23-5, 3-0), which knocked down 11 3-pointers on the night, was led by Hannah Lloyd, who finished with 24 points on eight 3-point shots. Lexi Kirgan added 15 points, while Maddy Slayter added nine points on a trio of 3-pointers.

Both teams' seasons resume Tuesday. Bullard plays at Chapel HIll, while Spring Hill travels to Kilgore.

 

Henderson Downs Rusk

HENDERSON -- The Henderson Lady Lions remained unbeaten in District 19-4A with a 61-43 win over Rusk on Friday night.

Nakia McElhanon led Henderson (14-8, 3-0) with 23 points, 14 rebounds and four steals. Ja'Keyah Steward added 14 points, nine steals and four assists.

Both teams return to action Tuesday night. Rusk hosts Carthage, while Henderson plays at Tatum.

 

No. 9 Martin's Mill Routs Quinlan Boles

MARTIN'S MILL -- The ninth-ranked Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs earned a 70-27 win over Quinlan Boles on Friday in District 14-2A action.

Cheyenne Brown led Martin's Mill (17-7, 3-0) with 29 points. Hailey Celsur added 16 points, while Briley Moon chipped in with 10 points in the dominating win.

Martin's Mill is back in action Tuesday night at home against Fruitvale.

 

Joaquin Takes Downs Beckville

JOAQUIN -- The Joaquin Lady Rams took a 43-30 win over Beckville on Friday in District 22-2A action.

Hana Bonner led Joaquin (11-11, 2-1) with 22 points, while Annabeth Vaughn added 13 points in the win.

Beckville was led in defeat by Kimber Wesner, who finished with 15 points.

Both teams return to the court Tuesday night. Joaquin plays at Shelbyville, while Beckville travels to Timpson.

Pine Tree Grabs First District Win

LONGVIEW -- The Pine Tree Pirates earned their first District 15-5A victory with a 53-48 defeat of Sulphur Springs on Friday night at the Pirate Center.

Joel Best led the way for Pine Tree (1-4 in district) with 16 points and eight rebounds. Caleb Robinson added 12 points, Eric Hawkins provided eight points and nine boards, while Mason Hays had five points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Jaylon Dugan paced Sulphur Springs (2-3 in district) with 17 points.

Each team resumes their season Tuesday. Pine Tree plays at Hallsville, while Sulphur Springs plays host to Longview.

 

No. 22 Waskom Overpowers Jefferson

WASKOM -- The 22nd-ranked Waskom Wildcats blew past Jefferson, 80-52, Friday night in the District 17-3A opener for both teams.

Kevin Johnson led the way for Waskom (5-5, 1-0) with 33 points, which included a 10-for-12 performance at the free-throw line. Chan Amie added 13 points, while Eric Stephens III chipped in with 12 points in the win.

Jefferson (0-1 in district) was led in defeat by Stefan Luster and Devorian Smith, who scored 14 points apiece. LaTaurus Gaderson added 11 points in the losing effort.

Both teams return to action Tuesday night. Waskom plays at New Diana, while Jefferson hosts Elysian Fields.

 

No. 2 Laneville Dominates Gary

LANEVILLE -- The second-ranked Laneville Yellowjackets rolled to a 103-35 rout of Gary on Friday night in District 28-A action.

Tra Alexander led Laneville (15-3, 4-0) with 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine of his team's 29 steals on the night. Ladarius Arnett also scored 22 points, which included five of Laneville's nine made 3-pointers on the night.

Kendrick Anderson added 18 points and five assists, Jaylon Grant hit for 15 points, and Ty Johnson chipped in with 11 points, seven assists and five steals.

Laneville returns to the court Tuesday at Mount Enterprise, while Gary takes on Wells on Tuesday.

 

Tyler Grace Edges Dallas Christian

TYLER -- The Tyler Grace Cougars picked up a 59-56 win over Dallas Christian on Friday night in TAPPS District 2-4A play.

Andrew Melhart led Grace (10-14, 3-1) with 15 points. Trevor Gunter added 14 points, while Garrett Tauscher had 12 as the Cougars shot 59 percent from the field and 54 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Zach Carter paced Dallas Christian (2-2 in district) in defeat with a game-high 29 points.

Grace returns to the court Tuesday night at crosstown rival Tyler Bishop Gorman.
