Friday Night’s Rose City Showdown Between Tyler Lee + John Tyler is the ETSN.fm + DQ Game of the Week

Two teams desperate for their first wins of the season square off Friday night. And they just happen to be separated by seven miles.

The 60th all-time meeting between Rose City rivals Tyler Lee and John Tyler is the ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Game of the Week.

Lee, after dropping a 59-35 decision to Keller Fossil Ridge in its season opener, blew a 39-point, first-half lead and lost to Lufkin in overtime, 52-49. The Red Raiders are hoping to avoid their first 0-3 start to the season since 2012.

John Tyler, meanwhile, suffered a 31-14 loss to Longview last week after a 35-17 defeat at the hands of Plano in Week 1. The Lions have not begun a season 0-3 since 2011. However, that season JT advanced all the way to the state semifinals.
