Friday Volleyball: Lindale + Whitehouse Pick Up Wins to Open District 16-4A

LINDALE -- The Lindale Lady Eagles rolled to a 25-4, 25-7, 25-3 sweep of Jacksonville in the District 16-4A opener for both teams on Friday.

Makenna Allen led Lindale (26-3, 1-0) with eight kills, four digs and three aces. Rhyan Rand added seven kills and a block, Travicia Acy had seven kills, Hanna Mitchell had five kills and two aces, Kaitlin Rice had four kills and Sydney Tiiman dished out 26 assists to go with two aces.

Lindale plays host to John Tyler on Tuesday.

Whitehouse Outlasts Corsicana in Five

CORSICANA -- The Whitehouse LadyCats took down Corsicana in five games, 19-25, 25-18, 25-11, 21-25, 15-11, Friday night in the 16-4A opener on Friday.

Ashton Ates led Whitehouse (1-0 in district) with 13 kills and five kills. Lindsey Hannah added 11 kills, Kaitlyn Anderson had four blocks, Amanda Dimon and Kelly Keller combined for 67 digs and Ronnie Fountain finished with 43 assists and three aces.

Whitehouse continues its season Tuesday at Jacksonville.

Pine Tree Rolls in 14-4A Opener

LONGVIEW -- The Pine Tree Lady Pirates cruised to a 25-17, 25-23, 25-13 sweep of Sulphur Springs on Friday in the District 14-4A opener for both teams.

Pine Tree (18-11, 1-0) was led by Kabreshia Orange's 10 kills, four digs and one ace. Sky Holmes added eight kills, five blocks, seven digs and two aces, while Kennedy Sampson dished out 31 assists to go with three kills, two blocks, six digs and an ace.

Kerri Johnson added four kills, two blocks, seven digs and two aces, Hannah Seibel had four kills, three blocks and two aces and Gavyn Diviney finished with four kills, one digs and one ace.

The Lady Pirates are back in action Tuesday at home against Hallsville.

Gilmer Sweeps Rival Gladewater

GILMER -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes swept Gladewater, 25-16, 25-8, 25-11, Friday in District 16-3A action.

Gilmer (5-0 in district) was led by Makayla Sikes, who finished with 10 kills and three blocks, five digs and six aces. Maci Ritter added 10 kills, Belinda Ray had six blocks and Shaylee Fennell dished out 23 assists.

Gilmer returns to action Tuesday at home against Spring Hill.

Troup Rolls to Sweep of Harmony

TROUP -- The Troup Lady Tigers swept Harmony, 25-21, 25-17, 25-19, in District 18-2A action on Friday.

Josee Ross had 15 kills, 19 digs and a block, Cheney Cover added 11 kills, 24 digs, one block and an ace, Paeton Nolan had six kills, seven digs, three blocks and two aces and Bethan Mason had 14 digs an ace. Carly Dyess added 20 assists, two digs and seven digs.

Troup (5-0 in district) hosts West Rusk on Tuesday.

Carthage Sweeps Bullard in Non-District

BULLARD -- The Carthage Lady Dogs swept Bullard, 25-23, 25-21, 25-11, Friday in non-district volleyball action.

Marisah Ingram led the way with 12 kills, while Iesha Bryant added 10. Kenzie Tate had 19 assists, while Morgan Wedgeworth and Kelsey Sharpe combined for 22 digs.

Carthage returns to 20-3A action at Diboll on Tuesday. Bullard plays at Henderson on Tuesday in 16-3A.

Beckville Sweeps Carlisle

BECKVILLE -- Beckville cruised to a 25-20, 25-19, 25-17 sweep of Carlisle on Saturday in District 20-A action.

Beckville (19-4, 5-0) was led by Ivy Rieke's 11 kills, seven digs and one ace. Taylor Lindsay added eight kills, 12 digs and one ace, Carson Blair had seven kills and 14 digs and Kassidy Alexander dished out 22 assists to go with four kills, eight digs and one ace.

Beckville's season resumes Tuesday when it hosts Gary.
