Friday Volleyball Roundup: Beckville Knocks Off White Oak in District Opener
WHITE OAK -- The Beckville Ladycats earned a 16-25, 25-12, 26-24, 25-21 win over White Oak in the District 16-3A opener Friday.
Kinley Blair led Beckville (20-4, 1-0) with 12 kills, four blocks, nine digs, and an ace. Payton Jones added 10 kills, one block, 26 digs, and three aces, Jordan Tondreau had 10 kills, two blocks, and 10 digs, Kinley Pepper dished out 44 assists to go with 18 digs and one ace, while Kaylee Hull chipped in with 26 digs.
Beckville returns to action Tuesday at home against Jefferson.
Quitman Captures 12-3A Opener
QUITMAN -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 26-24, 25-15, 25-14 sweep of Scurry-Rosser in the District 12-3A opener Friday night.
Kaci Raley paced Quitman (17-7, 1-0) with 13 kills, three blocks, 11 digs, and two aces. Molly Tanner added eight kills, five digs, one block, and three aces, Madalyn Spears had seven kills and five digs, while Cammie Hicks assisted on 21 points and added a kill and five digs.
Quitman plays at Edgewood on Tuesday.
Carlisle Begins District Victoriously
PRICE -- The Carlisle Lady Indians took a 25-19, 25-19, 14-25, 26-24 win over Leverett's Chapel in the District 20-2A opener.
Carlisle (16-11, 1-0) was led by Hayley Jordan, who finished with 29 kills and two blocks. Kyndal Martin added five kills and seven blocks, while Cheyenne Vannier registered 41 assists and 11 digs.
The season resumes for Carlisle at Gary on Tuesday.
