BECKVILLE -- Beckville took down Carlisle in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-18 and moved to 6-0 in District 20-2A.

Natalie Morris led the Ladycats with 14 points in the match. She aced a team-best four serves and scored 10 kills, second-best behind Carley Lawhorn's 12 kills.

Morris and Carson Blair each recorded a team-best 13 digs.

The team as a whole accomplished some impressive feats. It scored on 12 total aces while recording 44 kills and seven blocks. Carlisle only chipped in 24 points on offensive mistakes.

Beckville will put its district winning streak on the line Tuesday at Gary.

 

Whitehouse Rolls

WHITEHOUSE -- The Ladycats stayed right in the thick of the District 16-5A chase with a 25-12, 25-17, 25-21 win against Lufkin.

Whitehouse moved to 4-2 in the league and 16-17 overall.

Setter Molly Harris recorded 34 assists in the match in addition to two aces and 13 digs.

Brittany Taylor, Grace Hendricks and Beth Hood broke double-digit scoring in the match with 15, 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Whitehouse will host Nacogdoches on Tuesday.

 

Alba-Golden Sweeps District Competition

ALBA -- Alba-Golden capped the first round of District 14-3A with a 25-6, 25-18, 25-12 match win against Harmony.

With the win, the Lady Panthers reached the midway mark of district play with a 6-0 record. The six opposing teams will now cycle back around.

Brianna Weissert and Caitlin Lennon played big roles in the win with 13 and 12 assists apiece.

CeTara Carter paced the team with nine kills and three aces. Kaylee Bizell recorded a team-best four aces in the match.

 

Hughes Springs Edges Linden-Kildare

HUGHES SPRINGS -- Hughes Springs staved off a loss in the fourth set and came back to win its match against Linden-Kildare, 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 27-25, 15-8.

Kensley Echols led the way for the Lady Mustangs with 16 kills, two aces and two assists.

Kennedi Northam saved 25 points for Linden-Kildare on digs.

Hughes Springs will host Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill on Tuesday.

 

Rains Takes Down Brownsboro

BROWNSBORO -- Emory Rains swept Brownsboro, 25-21, 25-10, 25-18.

Rains gained a game in the District 14-4A standings and moved out to a 3-0 record.

The team scored nine points on aces. Shelbi Sheppard had a team-best three aced serves.

Corley Cole led the setters with 10 assists. Charlotte Bradshaw scored nine kills.

Rains will host Van on Tuesday.
