WHITEHOUSE -- The LadyCats moved to 10-1 in District 16-5A Friday with a sweep against Jacksonville.

Whitehouse won the match, 25-12, 25-3, 25-14, and are 27-11 with one final regular season game remaining.

Ronnie Fountain was a part of it all with a team-high 29 assists. Ashton Ates led the LadyCats in kills with 15.

Kelly Keller also reached double-digit kill with 11. Haley Galloway, Amanda Dimon and Brook Lindsey each recorded a pair of aces in the win. Dimon and Lindsey combined for 25 digs in the match.

Whitehouse will face Lufkin on Tuesday. Jacksonville will remain on the road for a match against Corsicana on Tuesday.

 

Beckville Secures District Championship

TIMPSON -- Beckville clinched the District 20-2A district title Friday in a sweep against Timpson.

The Lady Bearcats won the match, 25-10, 25-6, 25-13 and are 9-0 in their league.

Carson Blair and Stacie Brevard had great days behind the line with six aces each. Kinley Blair was just behind them with five aces of her own.

Cassie Elizondo was a perfect eight for eight on kill attempts and led the team in that department.

Kassidy Alexander and Madi Mize reached double-digits with 11 kills each.

Ore City Aces Past Union Hill

UNION HILL -- Beckville didn't have the region's absolute best serving day. That honor belongs to Ore City in a 23-25, 25-12, 25-7, 25-14 win against Union Hill.

Ore City players combined for 22 aces in the four-game win.

Chelsea Young and Ramiya Randle both led the team with five aces. Gracie Allen recorded four, Brianna Garcia had three and Nataya Johnson scored on two to round out players with more than one ace.

Tiera Cook, Jennifer Long and Hannah Walsh recorded one ace apiece.
