WHITEHOUSE -- The LadyCats moved to 23-10 and 6-0 in District 16-5A play Friday with a 25-12, 25-16, 25-13 sweep of Lufkin.

Ashton Ates led the way for Whitehouse with 15 kills and four blocks. Ronnie Fountain played a big role offensive with 32 assists in the three-set match. Megan Harris and Kelly Keller each scored on seven kills, and they combined for 15 digs.

The LadyCats continue district play Tuesday at Nacogdoches.

 

Gilmer Sweeps Gladewater

GLADEWATER -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes rolled to a 25-15, 25-10, 25-18 sweep of Gladewater on Friday in District 16-4A action.

Belynda Ray led Gilmer (2-1 in district) with 10 kills and seven blocks. Destiny Brooks added nine kills and four blocks, Kahriya Williams had nine kills, Christian Brown contributed 20 digs and two aces, Michela Devendorf finished with 18 digs, Jaci Traylor added 17 assists and four aces, and Madelyn Woodard chipped in with nine assists and on ace.

Gilmer continues its season Tuesday at home against Chapel Hill.

 

Beckville Breezes By Timpson

BECKVILLE -- The No. 4 Lady Bearcats lived up to their reputation Friday with a 25-8, 25-3, 25-10 sweep against Timpson.

Kassidy Alexander led the offensive effort with 14 assists, Carley Lawhorn scored on a team-best seven kills and Stacie Brevard served up an eye-opening seven aces in the short match.

Brevard did an outstadning job holding serve. He put the ball in play 24 times during the brief match.

Beckville will Gary on Tuesday.

 

Eustace Sweeps Rice

EUSTACE -- The Lady Bulldogs beat Rice in straight sets Friday, 25-14, 25-7, 25-11.

Kasey Lopez led Eustace with eight kills and two aces for 10 total points. Abra Roberts and Ashley Purselley both scored on six aces. Marshalla Padget and Grace Holcombe weren't far behind with five and four aced serves, respectively.

Eustace will host Troup on Tuesday.

 

Lindale Beats JT

TYLER -- Lindale defeated John Tyler for a win elsewhere in District 16-5A action, 25-15, 25-21, 26-28, 25-16.

Lady Eagles stats were not submitted, but the Lady Lions put up some good numbers despite the four-set loss.

Avoree Oliver put up 18 assists and had seven digs in the match, Johnetta Preston led JT in kills with nine while Deedy Rouge held serve consistently and finished with eight kills.

The Lady Lions will visit Jacksonville on Tuesday. Lindale will be back in action Friday against Jacksonville after the Lady Indians take on JT in their midweek match.
