TYLER -- Whitehouse rallied late to move to 2-2 overall in District 16-5A play .

The Ladycats scored 23-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 15-6 victory against John Tyler.

Beth Hood led Whitehouse offensively with 12 kills and four blocks. Grace Hendricks also got into double digits by way of 10 kills and two aces during the match.

Maddie Barnett recorded a team-best 20 assists in the win.

Whitehouse will host Jacksonville on Tuesday.

 

No. 2 Beckville Rocks Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE -- Beckville wasted no time on the road.

The state's No. 2 Class 2A team in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association's poll defeated Shelbyville, 25-6, 25-0, 25-1 to remain in the top spot in District 20-2A.

Beckville served up 26 aces in the match. Kassidy Alexander scored 13 alone and Madi Mize got up there as well with seven.

Carson Blair, Kinley Blair, Carley Lawhorn and Natalie Morris all tied for the team lead in kills with five apiece.

Kassidy Alexander recorded 19 assists.

The Ladycats will host Leverett's Chapel on Tuesday.

 

Carlisle Stops Gary's Comeback Attempt

CARLISLE -- Carlisle topped Gary, 25-19, 30-28, 14-25, 25-17 in District 20-2A competition.

Julie Smith led Carlise with 16 kills and two aces. Cici Deleon chipped in 34 assists.

Leann Youngblood paced Gary with 11 kills and three aces in the four-set match.

Carlisle will visit Overton on Tuesday. Gary will be off in the midweek and gets a crack against Overton on Friday.

 

Quitman Sweeps Mineola

QUITMAN -- Quitman scratched out a 25-13, 25-8, 25-21 District 14-3A win against Mineola.

Kaci Raley led the team with 15 total points scored, 11 kills and four blocks.

Cammie Hicks picked up a team-best 23 assists and added five aces in the match.

Quitman will visit Winona on Tuesday.
