Friday’s Softball Roundup: Whitehouse Cruises Against Jacksonville + Elysian Fields Tops Tatum

WHITEHOUSE -- The Ladycats jumped ahead of Jacksonville in the first inning and didn't look back in a 12-2, five-inning game.

Whitehouse's Megan Harris led the charge with a 3-for-3 night and three stolen bases with a triple in the first.

Morgan Drowns hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning and finished with 3 RBIs as did Brooklyn Brady and Ronnie Fountain. Micah Gray and Maggie Beard added 2 RBIs each in the win.

Elysian Fields Tops Tatum

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- The Yellowjackets used two runs in the second inning and two more in the third to get past Tatum in District 17-2A.

Keely Howard went the distance for Elysian Fields with three strikeouts along the way. She allowed five hits and one run in the fifth inning.

The Yellowjackets were led by Jacey Doyle, Kaycee Bailey and Melody Chmiel at the plate. Each player had two hits in the game, and Bailey had a team-leading 2 RBIs.

Elysian Fields outhit Tatum 8-5.
