LONGVIEW -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs suffered their first defeat of the season, dropping a dramatic five-set match to Pine Tree, 18-25, 10-25, 25-21, 25-22, 16-14 on Friday night.

Quitman (7-1) was led in the loss by Madalyn Spears, who had 15 kills, 10 digs, six aces, and one block. Kaci Raley added 14 kills, 10 digs, two aces, and a block, Molly Tanner provided eight kills, eight digs, four aces, and a block, while Cammie Hicks racked up 37 assists to go along with five digs, a kill, and one ace.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Tuesday at home against Chapel Hill.

 

Beckville Goes 3-0 at West Rusk Tourney

NEW LONDON -- The Beckville Ladycats rolled to three victories at the West Rusk Tournament on Friday.

Beckvile defeated Maud (25-9, 25-10), Timpson (25-16, 25-8), and Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill (25-15, 25-8).

Riley Seegers led the way on the afternoon with 22 kills, four blocks, 13 digs, and six aces. Hannah Humphries added 12 kills, two blocks, and five digs, Kinley Blair had 11 kills, one block, 11 digs, and nine aces, Jordan Tondreau finished with 11 kills, 11 digs, and an ace, Payton Jones added 10 kills, 16 digs, and a pair of aces, while Kinley Pepper dished out 68 assists to go with two kills, nine digs, and five aces.

 

Emory Rains Sweeps Past Quinlan Ford

QUINLAN -- The Emory Rains Ladycats rolled to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-18 sweep of Quinlan Ford on Friday.

Charlotte Bradshaw led Rains (6-4) with 14 kills. Taylor Pruitt added six kills, McKenna Hildebrant had five kills and four blocks, Shelbi Sheppard chipped in with 29 assists and two aces, while Kenna Kellam and Elissa Elliott combined for 31 digs and four aces.

Rains returns to the court Tuesday at home with a dual match against Commerce and Crandall.
