Gilmer Enters Associated Press Class 3A Top 10 Following Big Win Over Kilgore
There was a shakeup in the final regular-season Associated Press Class 3A top 10 poll, which was released on Monday.
Kilgore (8-1), which was ranked fourth last week, fell out of the top 10 following a 20-14 loss to Gilmer last Friday in the District of Doom finale. Gilmer (9-1) entered the poll at No. 10. Carthage (8-2), which was off last week, moved up one spot to No. 9.
John Tyler (9-1), fresh off a thrilling 45-38 victory over Whitehouse that clinched the District 16-4A championship, remained No. 2 in the 4A poll.
Newton (10-0) and New Boston (10-0) held steady at No. 3 and 5, respectively, in the 2A rankings. Hughes Springs (10-0) remained at No. 8.
In Class A, Joaquin (10-0) stayed at No. 5.
