It's been a remarkable season for Gilmer junior quarterback Aaron "Poppy" Brown, and the record-setting campaign has at least one more week remaining.

Thanks to another standout performance.

Brown passed for 345 yards and four touchdowns to help Gilmer reach its seventh state semifinal since 2004 by burying Celina, 43-17, last Friday night for the Class 4A Division II, Region II championship.

For his efforts, Brown is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week. He follows last week's winner, Carthage running back Keaontay Ingram.

Brown, who set the school's single-season record for passing yardage two weeks ago, added to it last week. He completed 15 of 31 attempts, and added 36 rushing yards in the lopsided Gilmer win.

His favorite target was senior receiver and Oklahoma State commit LaMarcus Morton, who caught four passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns.

For the season, Brown has passed for 4,659 yards with 46 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He is completing 66 percent of his throws.

Brown and the Buckeyes will face Sweetwater (12-1) at 7 p.m. Friday from Baylor's McLane Stadium in Waco in the semifinals. The winner will face either West Orange-Stark or Geronimo Navarro for the 4A Division II title at noon, Dec. 16, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
