Gilmer junior receiver LaMarcus Morton picked up his third Division I FBS offer on Monday, becoming an official target of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Morton (6-2, 175) confirmed the news via Twitter on Monday evening.

In addition to the Ragin' Cajuns, the Buckeyes' standout also holds offers from Arkansas and Tulsa.

ULL, which has offered six East Texas prospects in the 2017 class, are coached by Mark Hudspeth and posted a 4-8 record in 2015 after four consecutive trips to the New Orleans Bowl.

ULL’s 2016 squad will feature former Carthage offensive lineman Adrian Goodacre as well as two new signees from the East Texas region in Newton linebacker Tanner Holmes and Jasper tight end Cody Mitchell.

Morton caught for 589 yards and seven scores on 34 receptions as a junior, which might seem a little underwhelming compared to a few of his local peers. Gilmer, however, had 17 players make at least one reception through its 15-game season, and 10 players recorded at least 100 yards while the team additionally put up 3,158 rushing yards.

Morton led all individual receivers by 118 yards.

As an occasional defensive back supplement, Morton made 18 tackles and picked off two passes.

Morton, like all high school football players currently in their junior year, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him on Feb. 1, 2017.
