Girls Basketball Poll: Crockett Moves Up Three Spots, Lindale Drops Four

Crockett was one of several East Texas girls basketball teams to move up in Monday’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches polls.
Crockett ascended from ninth to sixth in the Class 2A poll, which also saw No. 20 Tatum, No. 21 Winnsboro, and No. 22 Alba-Golden fall one spot apiece.
But in Class 3A, all three ranked East Texas teams moved up: Pittsburg from 15th to 13th, Liberty-Eylau from 17th to 16th, and Mineola from 23rd to 22nd. Bullard fell out of the poll after being ranked 25th a week ago.
Following a buzzer-beater loss to John Tyler, Lindale fell from No. 14 to No. 18 in the Class 4A poll.
East Texas remained strong in the Class A Division I poll, led by the state’s top two teams: Martin’s Mill and Martinsville. Slocum moved up one spot to No. 8, while Zavalla leapt two spots to No. 13.
The same could be said in Class A Division II, where Saltillo remained No. 1. No. 14 Kennard and No. 15 Chireno each moved up one spot.
Tyler T.K. Gorman also moved up one spot to No. 2 in this week’s large private school rankings.
