LONGVIEW -- Sophomore Sky Holmes had 14 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks to power Pine Tree past Hallsville, 44-36, Friday night.

The win clinched a playoff berth for Pine Tree (15-11, 4-5), which moved two games ahead of Hallsville (10-17, 2-7) for the final playoff spot from District 14-4A with one game remaining.

Daneisha Patterson added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Pirates.

Pine Tree concludes the regular season at Marshall, while Hallsville plays host to Sulphur Springs.

Jacksonville Edges Corsicana, Clinches Postseason Spot

JACKSONVILLE -- The Jacksonville Maidens scored a 40-39 win over Corsicana on Friday night, and coupled with Whitehouse's loss to John Tyler, clinched the final playoff spot from District 16-4A.

Jacksonville (17-5, 4-5) is one game ahead of Whitehouse for fourth place with one game left, and defeated Whitehouse in both meetings to own a tiebreaker edge.

Jasmine Parson led the Maidens with 13 points.

Jacksonville wraps up the regular season Tuesday at Nacogdoches.

Hughes Springs Takes Down Daingerfield

HUGHES SPRINGS -- Kaycee Willis had 15 points and eight rebounds to lift Hughes Springs past Daingerfield, 49-34, Friday in District 16-2A action.

KaJza Murphy added three points, 11 rebounds and seven steals for the Lady Mustangs (14-14, 9-4).

Daingerfield (10-14, 7-6) was led by Shametreice Black's nine points.

Hughes Springs returns to the court to close out the regular season Tuesday at Redwater, while Daingerfield wraps things up at home against Queen City.

Top-Ranked Martin's Mill Too Much For Big Sandy

MARTIN'S MILL -- Cheyenne Brown had 19 points, leading No. 1 Martin's Mill to a 61-17 rout of Big Sandy on Friday in District 17-A Division I action.

Haily Jenkins added 12 points for the Lady Mustangs, which improved to 26-4 overall and 11-0 in district.

Martin's Mill concludes the regular season Tuesday at home against Overton, while Big Sandy plays host to Beckville.

LaPoynor Scores Win Over Beckville

LARUE -- Kelsey Bristow had 15 points in LaPoynor's 50-30 win over Beckville on Friday in District 17-A Division I competition.

Jensen Anderson added 13 points and Kivi Eldridge had 11 for the Flyerettes.

Beckville (14-15, 3-8) was led by Maya Bradford, who finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Ivy Rieke added eight points and 10 boards in the losing effort.

LaPoynor finishes the regular season at home Tuesday against Carlisle.
