HALLSVILLE -- Pine Tree kept its campaign for a perfect District 32-4A record alive with a 1-0 win at rival Hallsville on Friday.

Sixteen minutes into the game, Pine Tree's Erin Bailey crossed the ball from the left side, and PT career goals and assists leader Amanda Wallin gathered it and booted it in for a goal that proved all the Lady Pirates needs to get the win.

Wallin's goal was her 13th of the season.

Pine Tree, which improved to 13-1-1 overall and 5-0 in district, gained an 8-3 shots-on-goal advantage.

Pine Tree hosts Spring Hill at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Nacogdoches Routs Diboll, 5-0

NACOGDOCHES -- Nacogdoches continued to roll through District 35-4A with a 5-0 shutout Friday at Dragon Stadium.

Jenna McCarty, Aubrey Fuller, Emily Caldwell, Chloe Skidmore, Cindy Hernandez, and Victoria Hetrick all got in on the goals and assists action, while Meta Hughes and Savannah Scott shared the shutout in goal.

"Overall we played a great game," said Nacogdoches coach Gari Dial. "Once we settled down in the first half, we controlled the ball well throughout the field and controlled the overall pace of the game."

The win gives Nacogdoches a 4-0 district record entering Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. contest at Lufkin Hudson.

John Tyler Edges Whitehouse in Shootout to Take Over District's Top Spot

WHITEHOUSE -- John Tyler and Whitehouse needed not only overtime Friday night, but a shootout to decide which team enters the second round of District 31-4A play at the top of the standings.

John Tyler's Idania Alvarado, Jolene Calleja, and Yelsi Rosales converted their shootout goals to lift the Lady Lions to a 1-1 (3-2) victory against Whitehouse.

The LadyCats led 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal, but John Tyler's Esperanza Zavaleta tied the contest on a second-half penalty kick. Whitehouse failed to convert on a go-ahead penalty kick later in the second half, sending the match to overtime.

The win gave JT a 4-0 mark in 31-4A. Whitehouse enters the second round of league play at 3-1.

John Tyler hosts Lindale on Tuesday, while Whitehouse visits Mabank.
